Libertine-Libertine was founded in the summer of 2009 by Rasmus Bak, Pernille Schwarz and Peter Munch Oveson. They set out to create a brand based on existentialism, high quality and well designed clothing.
Libertine-Libertine distinguished themselves from their competitors by not including black and dull plain colours into their designs, instead opting for a vibrant range full of energy and style. Pernille Swartz is the head of design after having a background in designing for other brands.

Peter deals with the sales, logistics, and the financial side. Rasmus handles the communications and sales as well as product development. They do everything in house, the invoicing, the delivery, the packaging. This hands-on thorough involvement throughout the business allows them to be flexible and prioritize.
The brand has a maritime and nautical influence on their designs while taking inspiration from city lights, wild shores and contemporary culture. Their collections have an assured design consisting of seasonal re-workings of timeless styles.
